PITTI IMMAGINE - The Day Before
The time had come for Pitti Immagine Uomo, the beautiful fashion fair in Florence. For weeks we had been working towards this moment and the last days before the fair were full of stress stress and stress...It started with an Italian piece I had to translate into English for a client. I worked my ass off and wrote a beautiful piece. When I returned after my lunck break Mrs Moschino was furious; the client didn't like the piece I wrote and said it was full of mistakes. Well, maybe my Italian isn't perfect, but my English certainly is better than that of most Italians. I decided to take a new approach (instead of telling her she was right) and told her that it wasn't possible that I had made mistakes, but that I would have a look at my piece and change it. After that my female colleague was screamed at by Mrs Moschino for giving me the assignement in the first place and she was given the order to correct my piece. Three (!) ours later my colleague was ready and had changed maybe 3 sentences and showed me what I had been doing wrong. It was difficult not to laugh because she made some serieus grammatical errors and used words in the wrong context. I told them my opinion, but Mrs Moschino decided to send the client the 'corrected' piece, full of errors...The devil knew it better...

Jimmy Choo for H&M!!!
Great news for shoe addicts like me: Jimmy Choo is going to collaborate with H&M. The collection will be available in stores the 14th of november 2009! 200 Stores will have a limited edition Jimmy Choo collection that will contain shoes and bags....and clothes! It will be the first time the English brand will create a pret-a-porter line. The mood of the collection will be sophisticated glamour. Can't wait!
Lara Stone I love her
Being Dutch I'm, ofcourse, a big fan of Lara Stone. Do u remember when she took off her shoes at the Marc Jacobs runway show? Last february Vogue France dedicated an entire issue after her. I immediately called a friend in France and asked her to buy the issue and send it to me. Now Chanel has released a video called Fitting room Folies which has Lara Stone trying on clothes and taking direction from designer Karl Lagerfelt. Check it here:
How it all began...
Since a while I’ve been doing an internship at a PR and Press office in Italy. Our clients are all in the fashion industry and we also do their photo shoots. My first week as an intern I got to know the other side of my boss. Standing in the sun for our break, I hold my hand above my eyes because the sun was giving me trouble looking, when our boss was arriving at the office. Looking at me she said: I really really don’t know how to work with you, now your EYES are HURTING??? Well I think every human has eyes that are hurting when looking into the sun, so my colleague looked at me like: ‘let it go, she can be crazy, wait until the fashion fairs, she will lose it’. The following days I heard I know nothing about fashion, nobody that has done Polimoda does, I’m probably very wild because I’m Dutch, and I should try a career as a waiter. Oh yes, and she loves MOSCHINO.
